Richmond, VA - The Virginia Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (VIAAA) recognized Richard “Dick” Kemper, CMAA, and Jeremy Eubank, CAA, in April at the VIAAA Annual Conference.

Kemper, who retired in the fall of 2022-2023 as the Executive Director of VISAA, earned a special Award of Merit for service to VISAA and VIAAA for his hard work and dedication to both associations. He received a specialty engraved watch that only four other administrators have received for their service.

“Dick has been instrumental in the development of VISAA and many of the athletic directors within the association,”state Executive Director Adam Brick. “This honor speaks volumes to the work he has done for our organization and individuals that make up VISAA.”

The VIAAA named Eubank Athletic Director of the Year for independent schools. Announced as the new Director of Athletics at North Cross School in May, Eubank previously served as the Director of Athletics at Chatham Hall. There, he was instrumental in adding three sports (golf, diving, and track & field) and developing plans for a new athletics, health, and wellness center currently under construction and set to open in Fall 2024. In 2021, Eubank developed a girl’s state invitational golf tournament that had over 88 players registered in its first year. He serves on the VIAAA Board of Directors and chairs VISAA’s Hall of Fame Committee and Cross Country Committee.

“Jeremy has done a great job of working on providing opportunities and equality for his school and student athletes at Chatham Hall,” stated Brick. “It is with his foresight that these opportunities have benefited our association and our student athletes throughout the state and is a well deserved honor.”

Founded in 1973, the VIAAA ("V-I-Triple-A") is a professional organization of athletic directors from public and independent schools across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Its goals include the promotion of high standards of achievement and ethics in interscholastic athletics, as well as better public relations and sportsmanship between schools.
